So, I have unpacked an obscene number of wedding gifts and shower presents over the past few months. One of my favorite was the crock pot I got from Alisa, one my my bridesmaids who hosted my first shower. I have been so excited for it to get cool outside, so I can put it to use making some hardy meals!
It's is definitely getting cold outside...or should I say "chili"! That's what I made Thursday to slow cock and enjoy Friday night with friends at the house. So yummy, over macaroni, just like i learned to eat in South Carolina.

PS...Yes, I do still have my old crock pot. My mom gave it to me a few years ago when she upgraded. It was a wedding gift to her! Next weekend, I plan to cook for a crowd and use both!

Day 378: Tin Roof

During a college internship, I was a big fan or Tin Roof during a summer in Nashville. So, naturally, I was glad to see them make an appearance on "the strip" in here in Knoxville. But what I learned Wednesday was even more exciting. Tin Roof does a great lunch! And, on Wednesday, Tin Roof does one of there great quesadilla's for lunch...for $5! Wow. I had the California Quesadilla, topped off with corn and avocado. I think I could have split it with a friend too. So, so good! I'll be back another Wednesday real soon.

Day 369: Knoxville YL

You were made for this.
Last Tuesday night it was the Knoxville Young Life Banquet.
You can count on the annual Knoxville Young Life banquet for 3 things:

1. You are going to see fun friends that you love, including some you have not seen in a while and some you see everyday. It is a great reminder of the loving, visionary, massive but close community we live in!

2. You are going to laugh. Hard. A complete "who is on first" routine. A massive lip sync event. Yes, you are going to laugh. Very, very, very hard.

3. You are going to hear truth. And I am going to cry. And even if you don't, you are going to be touched with simple, yet profound truth. One leader summed things up with truth: Every kid, just like every adult, every person, everywhere, needs 2 things:

First, we all need to know the love of Christ.

Second, we all need to have real connections with a person who cares about us.

You were made for this.
